Win Draw or Lose Words and Music by Lloyd Tosoff Intro D G C D A D Verse Lord in my time I’ve have seen a thing or two But lookin’ back now There ain’t thing that I’d undo There were mistakes, A few regrets And some bad news But I’m still in the game Win, draw or lose Nobody said it would be easy The dealer’s bound to take his due Roll with the dice Let’s ‘em fall Keep your back against the wall Play your cards Lay ‘em down Win, draw or lose. Gonna find me a place Where I can rest my weary soul From too many miles On a nowhere road I’ve seen every Sleight of hand I damn sure know the moves And how to play the game Win, draw or lose When my days are done Don’t bury my bones Scatter my ashes Don’t carve my name in stone It’s not you play this game It’s how you bend the rules When you cash your chips and fold Win, draw or lose ©Lloyd Tosoff

5.) Crazy Over You 3:25 Written by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN You push and you pull in too many directions Drive a man wild just to win your affection Can’t make no sense out of anything you do All I know is I’m crazy over you Crazy over you Head over heels I’m a lovesick fool Stuck on you Like Elmer’s glue Crazy over you First you say yes then you turn on a dime Keep my heart chained up in a tangled state of mind Lord if could I would bid you adieu But I can’t let go cause I’m crazy over you Made up my mind I can’t take anymore With my feet on the ground and my eye on the door I’ll muster the strength put on my walkin’ shoes Till you look at me with those pretty eyes so blue Then I fall to pieces going crazy over you ®©Lloyd Tosoff

2.) Alabama Redneck 3:25 Written by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN 29 miles from the Tennessee line In the northbound lane on the Alabama side Been a long haul but I’m gonna make it home tonight I got Eric Church playing on the radio Let’s see how fast this old rig can go I can see the Highland Rim in the fading light Alabama Redneck Pulling on a flat deck Keeping 24 wheels between these center lane lines Closing up the backdoor with a big 10-4 Alabama Redneck Put me in her arms tonight Brake check ahead so I’m pulling in Gotta see my good lovin’ baby again Seen every kind of truck stop come on but I don’t pay no mind Cause when a man loves a woman like his loves his truck He’d have to be a damn fool to push his luck Everybody knows her name From Shakeytown to Bangor, Maine It’s painted on the door ®©Lloyd Tosoff

Allison 03:23
Allison Written by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN Verse 1 She sat on the edge of that big feather bed As I hung in pain on every word that she said My mind went blank as my broken heart sank like a stone Verse 2 I needed her like the sun needs the moon She led me astray down a sure road to ruin She barely gave what I hopelessly craved like a fool Chorus Allison Look what you’ve done You live for the chase Like a fox on the run You squander love then you toss it aside just for fun Like a shot through the heart with a gun Allison Verse 3 Said that she loved me but she dragged me through hell And there’s no escape when you’re under that spell When you want to see what you want love to be Bridge I can’t believe how she lied and deceived Twisted the truth as she played make believe I should have seen from the start I’d her next broken heart Verse 4 She sat on the edge of that big feather bed With a black dress and heels and her lips painted red In a blink of an eye and one final goodbye she was gone Like the wind she was gone ®©Lloyd Tosoff

San Antone 03:59
3.) San Antone 3:25 Written by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN Standing by the highway rain coming down must have chilled him to the bone He was headed my way Westward bound and I was on my way back home I pulled off on the shoulder said brother hop on in He tossed me his old guitar before he said with a grin If you can take me as far as San Antone I’d be much obliged cause that's where I call home San Antone San Antone Sweetest place I've ever known Got a girl waiting for me name of Rose if she's still alone I'm gonna marry my Rose in San Antone He looked tired and wet and hungry and I could tell by the shape that he was in He was down to his last dollar maybe less so I asked him where he he’d been He said I been chasin’ wasted dreams on a fickle wind that blows When I should have stayed in Texas and married little Rose I could see by stickers on his guitar case he been taken by that Nashville music scene Writin’ songs and makin’ music drinkin’ hard and livin’lean I could o’ dropped him off in Dallas but I said what the hell I turned south to Austin San Antone and his Texas belle He looked at me from the corner of his eye with a smiling face Like I’d been in his shoes in another time and place ®©Lloyd Tosoff

4.) If Your Aim is True 3:25 Written by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN Pulled into a hotel bar on the road to Saskatoon It was a hot July ‘neath a Prairie sky full o’ stars and a near full moon A bent old man by the ceiling fan sipping on a glass o’ brew Looked me up and down with a wrinkled frown waiting on a word or two He said his name was Duncan lived up the road a mile or two Made his living on a tractor since the spring of 52 He didn’t ask where I was headed or where I was coming from As I drank my beer he bent my ear ‘n said mind my words now son Keep your head down And watch where your footsteps fall Keep your mouth shut And your eye on the ball Mind your business And trouble won’t find you You’ll never go far wrong If your aim is true He said life is a long hard road with all its twists and turns Between the women and the whiskey and the bridges that I’ve burned Lord knows I learned and thing or two ‘bout life and love and such Though I’ll reap my fate at Heaven’s gate I don’t believe in luck I think about old Duncan and the words he had to say His simple Bobcat wisdom still lives in me today I’m sure he’s up in Heaven standing on that hallowed ground Tellin’ folks how beat the devil in exchange for another round ®©Lloyd Tosoff

One Shot at a Time Words and Music by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN/BMI Verse 1 By the time he was 29 he had it made With a song on the charts It was stone cold and hit bound ‘bout a honky tonk heart Said he’d never make 40 Livin' hard and carryin' on We all said boy you better slow down He was one goodbye from gone Verse 2 They still play ‘im on the radio Every now and then Sang like a homesick angel Raisin’ hell was heaven sent We all tried to warn him But he wouldn’t go dry He just laughed and poured another Said no one here gets out alive Chorus You can’t blame Jack Daniels When you drink away your life There were lights on his name Fortune and fame And a beautiful wife But that old pride of Lynchburg is like a Colt 45 Cause whiskey can kill you One shot at a time Verse 3 It was his last date down in Mobile But he never made the stage The MC introduced him But he didn’t hear the page They found him in the Green Room On the floor white as a ghost With his right hand on the bottle He never made his final show ® ©Lloyd Tosoff

Love Never Dies (Chris’ Song) 3:25 Written by Lloyd Tosoff SOCAN Shadows fall on sacred ground Heaven’s light is shining down Through your darkest hour to ease the pain A gentle voice calls out to you Keeps your broken faith renewed Though you’ll never pass that way again Heaven only knows how much you loved him Heaven only knows the tears you’ll cry Heaven only knows the empty feeling in your heart will heal in time Heaven only knows Love never dies A brother’s son has come and gone Now all that’s left is an angel’s song To break the silent aching emptiness Brothers we are one and all Together on a spinning ball Under one God nevertheless Now as he walks into the light Surrounded by an angel’s flight He sheds his earthy cloak to say goodbye A tear falls from the evening star The time has come for us to part Until forever finds us once again Heaven only knows how much we loved him Heaven only knows the tears we’ll cry Heaven only knows the empty feeling in our hearts will heal in time Heaven only knows Love never dies ®©Lloyd Tosoff

about

Live off the floor collection of the artist's traditional country songs. After writing and recording a neo progressive country rock project with Road to Somewhere, I wanted to explore my true love, which is the songwriting from the golden years of Nashville as well as my Canadian roots influenced by my hero Gordon Lightfoot. Writers like Kristofferson, Bobby Braddock, Harlan Howard and so many others forged a songwriting style that simply cannot be touched by the new age writers today. This is a record that is written in that vernacular and has strains of the best of Nashville as well as my authentic country sound. The lineup of players is first call;
